The mountain Entoto is north of Addis Ababa (Ethiopia): it is the local hill where folks go to escape hot days in the city and visit local churches and monasteries. On the way to St. Raguel (Raphael) monastery, unexpectedly a mint scent becomes stronger and stronger. The entire mountain is actually covered with eucalyptus trees – the so called ‘Lungs of Addis’ (and one needs strong lungs to survive the air pollution in the nearby city). All the way long you will come across hard working women packing huge piles of branches and carrying them on their back. Blazing sun does not help. Their irresistible and apparently inexplicable smile –to which the camera surrenders– makes the heavy load, probably worth less than a US dollar, look as the most precious good of the area.
